Smoke investigation on Ridge Road between Rte 414 & Leader Road. 461 investigated and did not find any other source for the smoke other than the reported controlled burn on Leader Road. All trucks held in quarters per 461. 4 men present Dispatched 11:20 / En Route 11:20 / On Scene 11:22 / In Service […] Reported smoke in the residence on Rt.96 south of Zwick Rd. A stove fire was the cause which was reported as out at the time. 403 responded. 10 men present. Dispatched 16:47 / En Route 16:47 / On Scene 16:55 / In Service 17:16 Dispatched for a report of smoke in the area of Rt336 & Secor Rd. 461 found the source & cancelled units already en route. 403 responded. 7 men present. Dispatched 15:47 / En Route 15:37 / On Scene 15:52 / In Service 16:02 Reported nuisance fire on Ridge Road in the hamlet of Fayette. Same location as Call #55. Further investigation found a home owner burning old carpet. Very little smoke, but very noticeable odor. 403 standby on apron. 5 men present. Initial dispatch for engine & tanker later changed to a standby with engine & tanker on Romulus’s floor. 9? men. 403 & 421 responded to the standby. Dispatched 10:05 / En Route 10:06 / On Scene (Romulus’s Station) 10:21 / In Service 10:57 Reported smoke in the residence on Rte 336 just east of Dilts Road. Smoke resulted from a shorted electric hot water heater. Power was turned off to the appliance and the thermal imaging camera was used to ensure that there was no extension into the surrounding area. Hot water base board heater piping was broken in back room of house which resulted in steam. Boiler was shut down. 403 responded. 10 men present. Dispatched 17:35 / En Route 17:36 / On Scene 17:38 / In Service 17:45 Reported furnace fire with heavy smoke in the residence at 4374 Rte 414 in the hamlet of Fayette.
