Who can join?
Any person over the age of 16 may join as an Active or Social member of the Fayette Volunteer Fire Department. To be an active member you must live within the Fire District or in an adjoining Fire District.

What does a social member do?
A social member is a dues paying member of the department. They have no requirements to maintain membership other than paying a minimal dues charge each year. As a social member you are free to attend any social event that the department holds.

What does an active member do?
As an active member you will take specialized training from New York State. Some of this training is required to remain active however you may choose to further your education. As an active member you will be able to respond to emergency calls and perform a number of functions on the scene. There are requirements to maintain your active status with the fire department.

How do I join?
To join you will have to fill out an Application along with the required Volunteer Firefighter Inquiry Form (DCJS-VFF). You can obtain an forms from any member of the department or download them below. After filling out an application and the background check form you can hand them in to any member of the department, call 1-315-549-8460, or stop by the fire department during functions.
